Off-resonance excitation pulse: a radiofrequency pulse that is not at the resonance frequency to selectively excite spins.

OSIRIS: a modified form of the ISIS sequence in which the signal from the outer volume is suppressed with a noise pulse; suitable for proton spectroscopy.

Overhauser effect: phenomenon whereby the polarization of one spin population can be used to enhance the polarization of a second population.
